01 ABOUT
Kuku FM is one of India’s fastest-growing audio content platforms, offering vernacular, long-form audio across genres like motivation, personal finance, fiction, self-help, and learning. With over 10 million users, Kuku FM is redefining how Indian audiences consume audio—making it more accessible, immersive, and personalized.
The brand’s mission is to empower creators and elevate diverse, high-quality audio content while positioning audio as the next mass medium for both learning and entertainment.
02 Challenge
Even with strong content and a growing user base, Kuku FM faced challenges at the visual discovery stage:
- Weak Visual Recall: As an audio-first platform, it lacked compelling visuals to represent its rich library.
- Low Engagement in Visual Ecosystems: In ad formats and app stores, where visual design drives clicks, Kuku FM struggled to stand out.
- Underperforming Thumbnails: Existing thumbnails failed to attract clicks or reflect content depth, leading to low CTR and retention.
- Scalability Gap: With rapid content expansion, there was no system to scale design across categories while maintaining consistency.
In audio, sound builds loyalty—but visuals drive discovery. To grow, Kuku FM needed design-led trust and recall.
03 Our Approach
BloomX partnered with Kuku FM to elevate visual storytelling through a comprehensive thumbnail strategy. The aim was to improve click-through, retention, and content discoverability by blending design research with scalable frameworks.
Content-First Thumbnail Strategy
We mapped audience behavior and genre-wise patterns to create frameworks that reflected emotional resonance:
- Career & Personal Finance: Clean, trustworthy designs highlighting expertise.
- Fiction & Drama: Bold visuals with expressive character cues.
- Self-Help & Motivation: Uplifting tones with energetic color palettes.
- Learning & Education: Clear, structured thumbnails emphasizing clarity and knowledge.
These genre-specific designs boosted click-through rates, improved trust, and enhanced overall content discoverability.
High-Performance Visual Design
Our creative team developed eye-catching thumbnail sets that balanced brand and content storytelling:
- Maintained a consistent color palette and typography aligned with Kuku FM’s identity.
- Integrated creator visibility and emotional hooks for stronger relatability.
- Optimized every design for readability across screen sizes to maximize engagement on both mobile and desktop.

We designed a modular template system to support Kuku FM’s ever-expanding content library:

- A system flexible enough for new shows and campaigns without losing consistency.
This allowed Kuku FM’s internal teams to maintain speed and brand recall while scaling production.
