Performance Marketing INDIA · 2026 EDITION YouTube SEO for Brands: How to Rank Videos and Get Pulled Into Google Search
An astrologer's income has a hard ceiling, and it's measured in hours. Acharya Sakshi Thakur and Sanjeev Thakur had built 25 years of standing across Vedic astrology, Vastu, numerology and tarot, along with thousands of people who trusted their reading of a chart. What they didn't have was a way to serve any of those people while asleep.
We partnered with them in July 2025 to fix exactly that. Since then the reports vertical has crossed ₹7 Cr+ in disclosed revenue, delivered 1.08 lakh+ personalised reports across four quantified products, and grown into a portfolio of seven distinct digital products.
The interesting part isn't the revenue. It's that almost none of it came from astrology nobody had sold before. It came from taking products that already existed in a crowded market and giving customers a different reason to buy them.
One to one consultation is the most trusted format in astrology and the least scalable one. Every rupee earned costs an hour. Take a holiday and revenue stops.
Digital products solve that on paper. In practice most astrologers who try it end up selling a PDF called "Janam Kundli Report" at a price the market has already decided, competing against a hundred identical listings and free chart generators.
That was the actual brief. Turning decades of knowledge into products that were personalised enough to be worth paying for, simple enough for a first time buyer to understand, distinct enough to stand apart, and deliverable at volume without anyone typing them by hand.
Four constraints, and most brands solve one or two before running into the others.
The kundli category never had a demand problem. The search volume for birth chart reports in India is enormous and stable.
It had the same problem. Janam Kundli, Birth Chart, Kundli Report and every variation of those describe the same thing, so buyers default to whichever is cheapest or ranks first.
We launched Smart Kundli as a deliberate break from that. The word carries a specific promise in Indian consumer language, which is intelligence, simplicity and something built for how people actually make decisions now. The report wasn't positioned as a traditional kundli at all. It was framed as a personal guidance system covering career, relationships, finances, health, planetary influences and the timing of major opportunities.
Same underlying astrology. A completely different question in the buyer's head. Instead of "is this kundli accurate", it became "will this help me decide something".
Smart Kundli became the flagship, crossing 1 lakh+ reports delivered on its own, and paid campaigns behind it reached up to 3X ROAS.
The numerology product taught us something worth stealing.
It launched as the KYC Numerology Report, built directly on a keyword that was trending hard at the time. That was the right call for month one. Search demand already existed, acquisition costs were low, and the product found buyers fast.
But a trending keyword is rented ground. It belongs to the algorithm, not to you, and when interest fades so does the product's identity. KYC Numerology could capture demand. It could never become an asset the business owned.
So we repositioned it as the Golden Path Numerology Report, shifting the promise from analysing your numbers to finding a more favourable direction for your life. Then, rather than killing the original, we ran both.
KYC Numerology handles demand capture. Golden Path carries long term brand identity. One feeds the other, and the business stops being hostage to a keyword's shelf life.
The report itself combines date of birth, name and mobile number numerology into recommendations across career, relationships, finances and personal growth.
A portfolio only works when each product answers a question the others don't. Ours were built against distinct customer intents rather than distinct astrological systems.
Lal Kitab Report exists for the person who's finished asking what will happen and started asking what they can do about it. Rather than explaining planetary influence, it converts the analysis into practical remedies across career, finances, relationships, health and family.
Smart Couple Kundli took compatibility past the score. Most matching products hand you a number out of 36 and stop there. This one reads planetary compatibility, yogas, doshas, relationship strengths and likely friction points, then offers remedies. It also opened a completely new audience segment, since the buyer is often a parent rather than the couple.
Dosha 360 moved the category from prediction to diagnosis. Customers arriving with a suspicion about Mangal Dosha, Kaal Sarp Dosha or Pitra Dosha want a clear read on what's actually present in their chart and what to do next, without wading through terminology.
Shani Suraksha is the one we're proudest of strategically. Saturn is marketed through fear across most of this industry, which converts once and corrodes trust afterwards. We built the product around protection and guidance instead, and named it accordingly. Reassurance turns out to be a far better entry point for a first time astrology buyer than anxiety.
Bhrigu Time Travel answers a question no competitor was asking: why does this keep happening to me? Built around karmic patterns and drawn from Bhrigu Samhita, it also travels internationally, because the idea maps neatly onto the globally understood concept of the Akashic Records.
Seven products. Seven distinct buying moments. A customer can genuinely need more than one, which is where repeat revenue in a reports business comes from.
Differentiation created the demand. It also created the bottleneck.
Every report was being produced by hand. As volumes climbed, delivery timelines stretched, the team's capacity became the ceiling, and the business quietly rebuilt the same constraint that consultations had.
We designed and shipped an automated report generation system with instant PDF delivery. Order placed, report generated, file delivered, no human in the loop.
That single change is what separates a digital products business from a service business with a download button. Volume stopped being a staffing question, delivery time went to near zero, and paid spend could scale without operations breaking behind it.
There's a customer experience argument too, and it's larger than it sounds. Someone buying an astrology report is usually acting on a live worry, whether that's a job decision, a marriage conversation or a run of bad months they can't explain. Making that person wait two days for a PDF gives the doubt time to return, and refund requests follow. Instant delivery closes the gap between deciding and receiving, which lifts satisfaction and cuts support load at the same time.
Four things carry over from this to almost any expert led business.
Name the product for the outcome, not the category. "Smart Kundli" and "Shani Suraksha" sell because they describe what the buyer gets, while "Janam Kundli Report" describes what you produce.
Separate your demand capture name from your brand name. Ride the trending keyword, but never build your equity on it.
Build a portfolio around different questions, not different formats. Seven versions of the same report is a catalogue. Seven answers to seven anxieties is a business.
And automate fulfilment before you scale acquisition, because ad spend applied to a manual process buys you a backlog rather than growth.
Expertise is the hard part, and the founders already had that. Everything above is just packaging it so it can travel without them.
